Are the End Times Keeping You from Your God-given Purpose?

God gave me revelation this morning in regards to “the end times”. A lot of people that are Christian have the tendency to be like the world, by doing what man tells them to do and ignoring what God tells them to do. They claim that they pray everyday and know that God loves and walks along side them. While they’re not wrong, He does love them and will never leave or forsake them (Deuteronomy 31:6). However, God never created us to be of the world by doing what the world is telling us to do.

In other words, why do we feel we need to operate in the world’s ways? Why do we have such a faith in what the Government could do for us? For example, when we turn a certain age, they will give us social security (the money we worked so hard for, and traded our precious time for). Why would we have faith in that, when we can have faith in the one who created us?

Creation of human kind had a purpose, and that same purpose still holds true today. God created the very first man to keep Him company, give Him friendship, and companionship! He gave Adam literally everything He needed to survive a happy, long prosperous life. He even gave us reproduction to grow the population and have family. He gave us free will so that we can think for ourselves because He is loving. If we make a choice that isn’t best for us, He will be the father He is and chastise us. It’s not to be cruel, it’s the opposite.

Another reason the end times should not be the only reason Christians are Christians is because it is not the only thing God intended us to think about. He created us for purpose. The word of God mentions that we are God’s co-workers. 1 Corinthians 3:9-7 “9 For we are co-workers in God's service; you are God's field, God's building. 10 By the grace God has given me, I laid a foundation as a wise builder, and someone else is building on it. But each one should build with care.” Again, God created us for such a time as this (Esther 4:14) and He gives each of us gifts and talents to be used to build His kingdom. It is not biblical that we are to just sit down, be quiet and allow the sin of the world to consume us. If we truly want to be a follower of God, we must obey what He tells us as we are instruments in His story, vision and fulfillment of Earth. (Isaiah 6:8) Even when Jesus came down from heaven, put on flesh, He came for a specific purpose. At what point in our society did we believe that the Government is our God?

God wants to give us freedom in knowing that He is our provider, our healer, our father, our friend, our teacher to name a few things. How much more freedom would you truly have if you completely gave your life over to Him? When I say completely, I mean allow Him to change you and your life from the inside out. Give Him a blank covenant and your free will. It will make your life hard at times, but only to make you stronger, and grow your faith and intimacy in Him deeper and deeper.

The end times are coming at some point, however nobody knows the hour or the day. (Matthew 24: 35-37) Therefore, instead of spending all of our days thinking about those days and forgetting we have purpose, maybe we should use the wisdom we have in knowing they will be here at some point so we must prepare by being purposeful and intentional in our relationship with Him. It’s easy to make the worry of the end times become the idol of your life by allowing it to keep you from moving forward in your God given purpose! You definitely have one and can find it by spending more time with Him consistently and allowing Him to reveal it to you. He might have to work on you (a process) before you get there, but that is part of the story He has written for you. As David says, 1 Chronicles 21:13 “They're all terrible! But I'd rather be punished by GOD whose mercy is great, than fall into human hands.” He was deemed a man after God’s heart, and God’s friend by God Himself! The key is to never give up on God, because He will never give up on you. It is good to be taught by God, sometimes the teaching may hurt, but it is for our own good.

We are warriors in God’s army, let’s start acting that way and fight the spiritual warfare, instead of allowing it to keep us with our head’s down and not doing what He says to do. Be blessed!
