How Returning to College Deepened My Trust in God's Plan

Hey Ladies!

Learning to Trust God: My Faith Journey at a Christian University

I recently started college again, and wow—it’s been a journey! It’s all online, but I haven’t been a student since 2016, and even then, I wasn’t a traditional college student. So really, it's been since 2013! Now, I’m attending college online, and let me tell you, I’m loving it so far. My first class is all about digging deeper into the Bible, and it has already opened my eyes to new ways of understanding God’s Word. I’ve never felt this passionate about school before. I think coming back as an adult with a little more wisdom makes all the difference!

Understanding Sin and the Importance of Trusting God

One of my first assignments had us dive into several topics around the Bible. I chose to focus my paper on “Sin”. It’s incredible when you really think about it: Sin is essentially disobeying God and distrusting Him. Adam and Eve are a perfect example. They doubted God’s wisdom regarding the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, let the serpent tempt them, and ate from it. That one act of disobedience brought sin into the world, and we’re still feeling the effects of it today. But God knew this would happen—He knows the beginning from the end. He didn’t set boundaries to be harsh or to tease us but to give us free will and show us that He knows what’s best for us.

It’s a reminder that we should place our whole trust in Him. Even when voices around us urge us to do something that goes against His will, we must trust that He knows what’s best. He created the world, He wrote your story and mine, and He knows how it all ends. When we let Him guide us, life becomes so much more peaceful.

God never does anything to hurt us—everything He does is for our good. Even when it doesn’t look that way, we have to believe that God is good all the time. There is no evil in Him; He conquers evil! He would never contribute to it. God offers us the choice to follow Him, and He never forces His way into our lives. He wants us to choose Him freely. It grieves Him when we disobey because He sees the consequences we can’t foresee—the pain, the struggle, and the heartache that come from not trusting Him.

Learn to Trust Him when Temptation is Knocking

So ladies, if you’re finding it difficult to lean on God and trust His plans for your life, know that you’re not alone. We’ve all been there, and for many of us, it’s a daily struggle. But let’s make the choice together to place our trust fully in Him. He is worthy of it all.

I pray that this year, you learn to trust Him in ways you never thought possible. I pray that your faith grows deeper than ever before because trusting God is truly the essence of faith. And I pray that 2024 takes you places you couldn’t have imagined because when we trust God, He moves mountains. He’s waiting for you—trust Him, and watch what He will do!
