How to Bear Spiritual Fruit: Remaining Rooted in Christ
Are you feeling a bit stuck? Nearing the end of another year do you feel you are not where you envisioned yourself to be at this point in the year? I know the feeling. I feel the LORD saying, that He has us right where we are.
He has you right where you are, child of God. You can take that sentence many different ways. He has you, as He will never leave or forsake you. He has you as He is using the very place you are to mold you, grow you, teach you, guide you, and to be an example for others that are watching you!
Do you wonder why you don’t grow any good fruit? Or if you are? Are you trying to force grow the fruit that only God can grow in your life and your spirit?
That’s right, child of the King! Only He can grow your fruits. We need to help Him do so, absolutely. Here’s what I am still learning now, about growing fruit in our lives and every aspect of ourselves.
How to Grow Good Fruit
It takes getting to know the LORD on a deeper level. It takes consistency and intentional time with Him, and reading His Word to grow in the spirit and grow fruit of the spirit. To become more like Him, we need to spend time with Him!
I notice with me, if I am just in my PMS time of the month and I am not feeling like doing ANYTHING for a week…I tend to forget to even eat let alone spend time with Jesus. Boy, does that hurt me and Him. But it hurts me, my heart starts to feel a void. I start to feel weary, and very lonely. My anger gets the best of me and I’m not the best version of myself with those that love me.
It is so important that we make sure God is the top priority in order to feel well, and to see good fruit!
How do we know what good fruit actually is? Well it’s not always things. It is simply becoming more Christ like. The bible tells us in Galatians 5: 22-23 what the fruit of the Spirit is. That is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control! When they say that the Bible is our weapon, our instruction manual from our Creator, they really are not kidding! Jesus also says that He is the vine, and we are the branches (John 15:5). “If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear MUCH fruit; apart from Me you can do NOTHING.” (John 15:5)
In this world full of evil, distractions and stresses, the Word of God tells us to stand rooted in Him. Let Him prune you while we remain in Him. We have to choose Jesus as the number one priority in our life or we will get taken in the storms. We need to have our relationship with Jesus tight, lock in step in order to hear His plans for us. It is really difficult at times, this I know! I fail everyday. What He has been telling me is take it one day at a time, daughter. One day at a time. When we intend to do it each day, to put Him first; it will begin to come naturally. That void you have been feeling will disappear. You will begin to learn what you are here on earth for. You will begin to learn His voice.
I pray that you will take your walk with Christ more purposely, more intentionally. It is the most important thing we can do on this earth. With each distraction, takes our minds off the things above. The bible says to keep our eyes on the things above. When we take each day a step at time, asking Jesus to walk with us we will be in our purpose! His will, will be done! Praise the LORD Almighty for this word, from the Holy Spirit!
Be blessed, sister in Christ!
